In limited formats, both sealed and draft, the rough breakdown between spells and lands in a deck should be 23 spells and 17 land for a deck size of 40 cards. After you select the 23 spells, you then need to build your manabase, selecting 17 land that will go in your deck to allow you to play those spells.
Figuring Out Your Mana
To figure out what mana you will need of each color, count the number of times that color's mana symbol appears in the costs of all the spells in your deck. Take that number and divide it by two (round up), and that will be an approximation of how many sources of mana of that particular color you will need in your deck. Here is an example break down of a green/red/white deck that splashes black for a single card:
